Thanks Mike. The dial spring, #83, is in place. The speed control dial is the one rattling. I have the spring under it and it is set properly and it does seem to have good amount of tension. Wondering if there is any other thing I need to pay attention to or do differently or change the spring. Than...

Speed Control Dial rattle

On putting back the speed changer and turning on, the speed control dial rattles at lower speeds, between SLOW and Saw/Jointer setting. The rattle goes away beyond Saw/Jointer setting. Seems like the SPRING does not help much in preventing the rattle cause of the grove on 'speed control dial' betwee...

I would be interested in the coupling kit and the universal holddown #12-357 & part #2590. I am in CA.

The click at turn on is not as audible as at turn off....yep...I took it all the way up and than down before turning it off. I was concerned that the clicks just showed up..they were not there the few times I turned it on/off previously. Maybe my cleanup with 150MPH blower made the difference...:) I...

Were you not able to open the file on downloading and changing the extension to mp3 ? MP3 upload is not supported by the forum so had to change it to .txt.

It's a single click at the start and at the end.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick responses. Such an active, helpful, community...it's comforting for newbies like me. The clicks are very much there without any attachments. Seems like Dusty/JP are right on the money. I looked through the nameplate opening when turning off the machine and did not see anything s...

Clicks on start and stop

Hi, Got a shopsmith 510 a few weeks ago. The machine seemed to be well kept so turned it on and it sounded fine. I than did basic maintenance, blowing out the heastock (not much sawdust ), oiled the sheaves and waxed it. Turned it back on, cut a piece of ply, no issues. Yesterday evening planned on ...
