I would agree that simple glue joint will be sufficient.

Which screw's? Clearance holes speak for themselves, clear area around the screw, no holding power there, just slip through. Pilot hole is drilled to prevent splitting, and yes little wax on screws in pilot holes makes for happy driving.

The very first time,,,,several years ago ,,, I used the scroll saw /jig saw on the SS I made the leaves , they are maple with walnut veins. Would this would be nice if you have an insurance claim due to loss or theft? =========== you should be able to insure the $ value in your insured contents with pictures .
