Before you take a chisel to the motor screws, a hand held impact driver might do the job quite nicely with no damage. Helps to use the right size bit, too. If they're like my 500, then a number 3 philips should fit nice and snug.

No idea as to why but that is what it says. Maybe some pencil pushers didn't understand what the product is.

BTW I checked again tonight and it is still not carried in any of my local stores. I'm wondering if those that found it can still find it? Close out? or just a super sale?

You're not kidding. It's got a bandsaw, looks new enough to have the higher horsepower motor AND looks like a router fence on the floor, too. $250 would be a steal around here.

Your second picture really doesn't look that bad as far as alignment goes. I don't think you need to go to extremes to "blueprint" the assembly for smooth opeeration. Could it be that ...

I just finished wire brushing all the flacking paint and rust off of my SS legs also. Hit it with a coat of rust reformer and rustoleum gray. Look what followed me home today. I seem to be the only one here who didn't have a 10ER and I felt left out. I'm not going to do a full restore, just clean it up a bit and use it as a drill press. I'm going to build a special stand so I can fit it in my half of the garage ...
