Just get some belt conditioner from AutoZone. It comes in a spray bottle. It will take the set right out of that belt.

Ever thought of using the router chuck in drillpress mode? You could use stops on fence. And you only have to square the corners when done. Shopsmith even has a package for this very setup. http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/cata ... tising.htm

Knives and Cutters

I'm looking to add some cutters (shaper) and knives (moulder) to my arsenal and was wondering what people have in their collections. I have the half/quarter round, cabinet door stick and cope, and two other cutters for the shaper. The later two appear to be a bead and cove and crown but I'm not 100%...

+1 on the Iwata. But for just starting out that might be a little spendy. I have a badger 170 I believe. I also have a compressor for airbrushing. It is diaphragm type. Very very quiet. You do want to have an air moisture trap. The badger is single action. I also have a testors dual-action that work...

Ah very good JPG.:D Your link would be better. I was thinking of making that jig/sled but moving the fence back to accommodate wider stock. I like the idea of using the feather board that I already have. No need to hunt down a toggle clamp.

I would say #1 is on track. Laminated wood beams and electric poles have been used for a while with great success. Very strong. I think the thing with cross grain is one part moves and the other doesn't. In this case everything is homogenious and thus should be fine. By the way, you ready for Sat.? ...

I have that issue of Wood with the plans for that sled. The lady that submitted the tip was retired from the navy I believe. She made flag boxes and frames for medals. The sled was made for a titling arbor saw as well! Some other thoughts to help with this type of cut. Figure 3-10 And the sled in th...

I think the Smithy Supershop had a torsion type spring to help lift its headstock. Off the top of my head that is the only thing I can think of that would be out of the way. I`m not sure of the longevity of such a spring but it could be worth a look.

Took the shaft and sheeve to Lowes but was unable to find a clip that fit. So I put the headstock back togehter and it spins like a top. Once I put the shaft under tension with the eccentric bushing I could not move the sheeve at all. So for now I'll run it that way and add the clip to the next orde...
