Re: Did you see the ChopSmith?
I loved the video. It showed normal life in a shop when things do not always go like planned.

Re: Don't Know Why
There was MS Dos that ran on most any pc, then there was IBM Dos that had code added that tied into IBM bios and made math and other functions much faster. However at the time we were all enchanted with the speed of practically any PC so the speed difference was lost to most PC nerds of the time. Th...

Re: 510 versus 520
My objection over the differences of the 510 and 520 is more over repeatability and which requires the operator to fiddle around the most to get that repeatability. I agree if you always do this and that to overcome certain traits within the machine you can for the most accomplish this. But when you...

Re: 510 versus 520
Pressing the Table Tube(s) upward(as om the 520) or or outward (as on the 510) is IMO the same with the same result. On the 510 the Table Tube is pressed against the inside of the tubular Table Rail. On the 520 the Table Tube is pressed upward against the top of the Table Rail into a mating curved ...

Re: 510 versus 520
I think Scott over emphasized the sag problem, to me the biggest problem was pushing the thin end of a screw stud into a circular tube. If you hit the tube head ( exact axis of curve) on you had one height, if you hit the tube below arc of the tube it lifted the tube and you had another height. If y...

Re: 510 versus 520
...I talked to the salesman and played with the machine and I found all the flaws of the 510 were addressed and corrected by the 520. I ordered my upgrade. It is excellent even the build quality had 100 percent improvement! ... Just for clarity, you upgraded the 'bad' 510 into the 'good' 520? As op...

Re: 510 versus 520
I am not a precision freak and in fact much of my work shows how little precision I seek. But I owned and used the 500, 510 and 520. To me the the 500 was the most precise but suffered from size and other restraints that both the 510 and 520 overcame. However when I got my 510 I was sickened but tge...

510 versus 520
Through the years Dusty and I have discussed the difference between the 510 and the 520. I always took the hardline that the 510 should never have been built as it was nearly impossible to align the aux table and floating tables to the main table with any precision. Dusty on the other hand felt I wa...

Re: Cordless Power Tool Battery Prices
I think you all are sounding like our forefathers did when automobiles came out. Ain't going to work, too expensive, no one is going to stand around a gas pump if you can find one! No a fan of high battery prices but love the freedom from the cord on cordless tools. Bought my first cordless tool a 9...
