I also sent them an email before posting in the forum. Thanks for the suggestion. It's appreciated.

Re: Shopsmith Celebration of Woodworking May 17-18, 2024
I'm a professional woodturning demonstrator/instructor that uses my Shopsmith for many of my projects.
I'm wondering if they are looking for someone to demonstrate woodturning during this event, and who I can contact to find out.
Any info about this will be much appreciated.

Re: Time for a rant
I do believe the woodworking store he was talking about in his 'rant' is called 'Woodworkers Emporium'. I've been there more than a few times and order from them online.
The folks there are knowledgable and helpful, and I'm surprised they would have an 'attitude' about Shopsmith owners. They know I ...

Re: Need 510 Lower Saw Guard
Thanks for checking on this. The parts sheet I looked at had the price I quoted for some reason. I think there might be two different parts lists available online for some reason.

Re: Need 510 Lower Saw Guard
Trying to avoid the $259.00 + shipping that Shopsmith wants for a new one. I've seen them on ebay in good condition for under $50, but the only one on there right now is the one you mentioned, and it's missing parts, and I don't think the extra $50 he wants to ship it is worth it. Paying $110 for a ...

Need 510 Lower Saw Guard
Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for a lower saw guard for a 510 that a friend of mine gave me and I'm currently cleaning up for use. Looked everywhere online for a decent used one but no luck. If anyone here can help, or point me in the right direction, I'll really appreciate it. Thanks.

Re: Shopsmith Traveling Academy
Hi Bill
Yes, I do know that there are many woodworking classes that cost more. I was just referring too if the new TA is just a repeat of what it was 10-12 years ago, then I'm not sure if it is worth the higher cost.
For those who have never been to one, sure it will be great experience for them ...

Re: Shopsmith Traveling Academy
I guess the price has gone up to. The earlier version cost $45.00 a day, and the seminar lasted three days total, each day covering different subjects. Now it's just one day for $99.00. Hope it's worth the cost. I'll probably check it out if it comes through central CA.

My 7 yr. old grandson is already making pens on a small pen-making lathe made by JET Tools. He is really excited about moving on to making larger items. Of course, I keep a watchful eye on him while he's turning. His 5 yr. old brother is now interested too.
