allsas, I would like to get the grinding jig plans from you. I have been thinking about using the Shopsmith as a slow-speed grinder for a few months, just couldn't figure out how to do it.

I guess this is a little to big for what you are using it for.

When I started turning I wanted to turn some bowls and the only gouge I have is a roughing gouge, thankfully I did my research and found that video.

I too was confused by the statment "never use a roughing gouge to turn a bowl"... Perhaps the statment should be amended to read
never use a roughing gouge to turn the INTERIOR of a bowl.
