Check to see if there is a GFCI outlet on the same circuit, and if it tripped. If that is the cause, try replacing that outlet with a hospital grade GFCI outlet. This solved a problem I was having with a variable speed DC lathe motor.

Re: Sharpening Guide
Sounds like the Stuart Batty 40/40 grind. Very popular grind but hard to do with a jig.

Re: Operates Shopsmith on a GFCI circuit?
I have GFCI outlets in my garage. Neither the standard headstock nor the PowerPro tripped the GFCI, but I have a variable speed lathe that did. I switched the outlet to a hospital grade GFCI and that solved the problem.

Can someone point me to instructions on aligning the 520 table system? Oh, and I have one of those aluminum alignment tools...I just have no idea what to do with it. There is a lot of helpful information on the shopsmith.com website - click on the Support tab and select Online Manuals. https://www....

Re: ISO wider tool rest for lathe
Try Rick Herrell, he makes posts and rests, mostly for pen turners, but he'll make you a 12" rest and already makes a post for the Shopsmith.
