Re: 2nd project-which should have been first!

Good idea! I've used a food dehydrator to circulate and dry my projects here in Florida. I also provided a small vent hole at the bottom and at the top of the enclosure in order for the humidity to exit. Works great for the past 12 years or so.

No electricity, no cell phone, no land line, no internet, no water etc. We live in the panhandle of Florida about equidistant from Panama City, Tallahassee, and Dothan Al. Michael's eyewall passed about 4-5 miles west of ...

Salt and pepper mechanisms

My bride of 45 years has decided that I need to make some salt and pepper grinders. All I know is the mechanisms should be ceramic. I see some at Rockler and others. Anyone have an opinion? ( )

Re: Sign well done, or very distressed

I used to do this years ago. The way I did it was after the burning, I used a wire brush to blend and knock of the charcoal. The couple of coats of poly and it came out great. The great thing about this process is you don't have to wait on the stain to dry! Great job.

Re: Urethane bandsaw tires

I have replaced all of my bandsaws with urethane. Delta 10", Shopsmith 11" and Jet 18". They were all bought off the internet from two different vendors none were from Shopsmith. Being in the south, the high ozone levels cause the rubber ones to fail very quickly. Less than two and a ...

Re: Small mystery bearing?

Thanks guys. I have ordered a bearing and will try that first. Being a bit cheap I figured 13 buck compared to fifty (counting shipping) was worth a try. I do, have and continue to oil this ol' machine, but obviously not enough in this area. Again thanks for the replies and did I mention my wife thi...
