FWIW when my Greenie was still a Gilmer, the quill was silver not black, and the splines were coarser than those appear to be. Yeah apparently Nick wants it changed from "headstock" to "Smart Motor". And apparently you've got your conventional Smart Motor and your PowerPro Smart Motor. Even though there is nothing "smart" in the all-mechanical conventional headst^h^h^h^h^h^hSmart Motor....

Thanks! I cut the 2x2x10 blanks from 8/4 kd red oak on the table saw. I then octagonalized them on the bandsaw (using a sled made from a 2x6 with a v-shaped notch in it. He shows how to do that).
