Re: Confused about sanding belts

The most likely definition of "G2 Technology" is a Generation 2 belt.

Re: Mucking About with the Lathe Duplicator; Fixing Gramp's Feet

That's pretty cool. Looks like if a person can fabricate any 2 dimensional profile, then that profile can be turned! Thats a "duh" moment for me, hadn't really thought about doing that. Don't have a duplicator, but maybe someday.

More details! Different saw blade...same result? Standard insert? Table and fence aligned? Maybe fasteners loose somewhere.

Have not gotten that far yet. Still waiting on parts for the retractable caster mechanism. Doing the premium caster upgrade at the same time, so the 520 is still in "missionary" position. :D

Will let you know as I know!

Re: Double tilt upgrade

Did you do a double tilt upgrade without going for a PowerPro headstock upgrade? If yes, please tell me why I might want to do that same thing. Do you not need the motor reverse function too? Yes Dusty, I did do a double tilt without the PP upgrade. I got the upgrade in anticipation of getting a PP...

Re: Double tilt upgrade

Yea, that could be a good alternative. Unfortunately I have a very small shop, but I do already have a 500 & a 520. So far, using the bases as storage for SPT's is my best route. Hoping this year to do a PP conversion on the 520.

Double tilt upgrade

Hi all! Just finished my double tilt upgrade. Does anyone have any ideas on uses for the removed bases and pivot assembly other than using them as an SPT shelf mount? That would seem to me to be the obvious use.

Re: Retractable casters

Thanks Joe for the diagram, that helps alot. I have already searched for posts on this subject and came up with many. So I am aware of the pitfalls involved. I do plan to use careful documentation during disassembly.

Again..thanks!

Retractable casters

Anybody out there have a parts diagram for the retractable casters? I need part numbers if possible. I just finished doing a double tilt upgrade on my 520 (easy BTW)and wanted to do the premium caster upgrade at the same time. The rods on the retracting caster are extremely pitted with rust. I would...

Re: A neat way to easily add a ZCI

I guess insert height adjustment on all saws would be too much to ask.
