Re: Making a Lie-Nielsen Plane From Start to Finish
Yes, those babies are right fine instruments. I had hands on about 5 of them in my shop over the years, but I'm down to one multi-purpose one.

We'll see how it works out for comfort
One thing not so easy to see in the pictures, is that the seat does tilt back a tad (per the design). I think that does add a bit of comfort.

Re: Three-leg high chair / stool
Actually, I used the world's best friction-pivot bevel gauge. That is, the vintage 2007 MITE-R-GAGE that I bought from Shopsmith back in the day

Three-leg high chair / stool
In progress! Generally I'm following a plan from Christopher Schwarz's "Anarchist's Design Book", but altering things a bit. For joinery holes in the legs and rungs, he uses a super-long bit and a steady hand-held electric drill. I, of course , prefer using the Shopsmith's inherent jigging...

Re: anodizing aluminum
This is pretty cool reading!
My nephew has a side-hustle making niche automotive aftermarket parts. I think they use a lot of anodizing. Luckily, his catalog doesn't address my car, or I'd be an addicted buyer for these shiny, red things.
