Re: Adjustable stop collar
They warn you in the instructions not to use them to actually raise the table. You are supposed to raise the table by hand, turn the collar to make the adjustment and then lower the table and collar back down. Other than that is it possible to over tighten them ? Not sure. I have not experienced an...

Re: A Slow Boat To Nowhere
Plus, the iPhone camera is as good or better than a lot of standalone cameras. Ya right, tell me how to change the shutter speed and F Stop setting to change depth of field? Just like the CD, and now vinyl is the rage again for the sound quality. I relent, it is a handy feature on your phone. John ...

Re: Today in the shop (my drill press setup)
The drill press handle as shown here is going to look a little different then the factory one. Yes the red handle is the give away. I did that because I kept trying to unscrew the other ones then the one that lets you take it off. Extreme perhaps but I haven't made that mistake since the switch. I ...

Re: A Slow Boat To Nowhere
John, can you by 35mm film, check the price, I got the same set up as you but a Nikon F. And no I refuse to buy a cell phone that takes pics, it is a phone, not a camera, but the youngens I think buy a phone to use more as a camera then a phone. Just watch the commercial for them. Sure you can buy ...

Re: Adjustable stop collar
I would make sure it is NOT a cup or point setscrew. They come with a dog nose set screw so the end is flat. I have one installed on the main table and one each on my two fixed extension tables. There is no sign of any deformation on the main table tubes and one of the extension tables. Interesting...

Jsburger, I didn't mean to go against anything you said. Just my brief observations from the call. You're probably right. If I happen to get this unit would these parts be what I need to get it functional for all five jobs? http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/catalog/l_turningpackage.htm. - 201.23 h...

Re: Free Standing SS Drill press
rjent, I cant speak for all, but as a multiple machine owner and some dedicated for a special perpous. They run forever, easy to work on and used cheap, plus variable speed without having to change a pulley belt, unless an ER without a speed changer. I missed out on a mint ER for 50$ today because ...
