little help in IDing a part

thought it was going to be easy. I have my headstock apart and either the a little spring fell or wasn't on which was making my dial turn hard. I have the exploded view but can't find the part in order to look it up on proper placement or to order a new one. sorry for not knowing the words. the worm...

general question.

a 1979 ss bandsaw or a

1991 ss bandsaw.


both have large aluminum tables. the 79 has a few extras.

but I was wondering. sometimes older machine are better built than than the newer ones.

can someone explain the systerm used by SS for their Mark Vs. I just realize that a Mark 7 is older than Mark V. Why did they go backwords. and why is there a sticky on almost all the post that refered to the new shopsmith power pro--when it's from 2006 and I guess it's not out yet? just curious I g...

how to use a power station

thinking of buying a used band saw and power station. (don't know where yet).

never seen a power station in operation.

does it have a dial for speed?

or do you have different pullies and belt for different tools.

yea that's what I am talking about.

I use to own a ss jig saw, but now I own a scroll saw by Dewalt. The scroll saws use both upper an lower holder, I forgot how the SS jig saw worked.
