Hint For Clamping Large Item

This holiday season my daughter has requested a window seat to replace a seat removed by a prior owner. She plans to paint the seat and made her desires very specific. The front section has been completed in a single panel 106" long. While assembling I encountered one of those hey wait a minute...

Come on guys I need help. Medigaps plans pay for everything but cost. Advantage plans have copays. Some high some low most have a max out of pocket. The max out of pocket is nearly equal to what the Medigaps costs. Seems like a crap shot. If you get Advantage and don't have any many hospital stays ...

I have even purchased a hood to collect wood chips, frankly I believe it was a waste of money. The best solution for me has been a standard broom and one of those aluminum monster sized dust pans. This combo picks up 90% of wood chips in a hurry/ Then I use the DC3300 to collect the rest. Jim

This is fine for the Shopsmith dedicated to drill press duty. However if done to the overhead router, you would lose the ability to use the router in horizontal mode for tasks such as panel raising. Nice stand, Jim. Thanks for the nice comments. In that I had no desire to purchase new tubes if I sc...

What size clamp is that?
It was either 10" or 12" Clamp. I suppose the 12" would offer greater height. Jim

Headstock Stand

While working to prepare my Brothers tools for sale I had occasion to remove and replace a headstock. My son was helping and grabbed the tool shown in the attachment which made a perfect stand. Try it you will be surprised. Sorry I didn't think to take a picture of the headstock standing happily in ...

OPR Stand Revised

In the past we have discussed this great tool and the potential use of a shorty stand. I recently had occasion to discover a lathe add on from shopsmith does a major job of offsetting the weight issues of using a short stand. Once that option hit me I shortened my tubes so that the lower tubes are 2...

Here is a link to an ad that sounds a lot like your brother's. It looks like a nice setup. I have enjoyed both my Incra and Jointech setups. You are correct that is his setup. He has had a tough time as a vietnam vet who is plagued with a number of physical and emotional issues. I tried hard to int...
