When I loosened the belts to 1/4" deflection the rattling did pretty much stop with no load. Still testing to see if I can live with the belts being that loose.

Sounds like your belts are grossly out of balance. I would first balance the belts per the procedure in the instruction manual. I know what you guys are saying. That is the reason I set my belts pretty tight but then I got the chatter in the Drive Sleeve and Quill assemblies that can't be adjusted out by balancing the belts. Has anyone experienced this? I am going to try running with looser belts and see what happens.
