You could use a piece of drill rod the appropriate size (1/4 or 1/2 inch) and long enough to mount in the router and the router. Tighten them up and clamp the table. Alignment complete.

A piece of drill rod would probably make a better pin. Smooth and hard.

Sounds like finding a good deal on a 510 and upgrading is the best (cheapest) way to go while keeping my eyes open for a deal on a 520. It could happen.

I have a working 500 that I bought new about 1982 and a few other tools as well so it's not like I need it now. I can wait for a bargain.
