Set screws are actually “normal” size - this thing is just so literally NIB that the set screws were never inserted beyond a quick by-hand twist at the factory!

Re: Share your Magna memorabilia!

So, why exactly do I need a Lathe Tool Rest for my RAS??! Well, if you owned the world’s most versatile RAS back in the day, your Sawsmith was capable of all sorts of workshop functions if you had the right accessories - including lathe function! . Model 10ER (S/N R51721) Dedicated Drill Press Just finished reassembly of this guy today - converting to dedicated drill press. Had to replace a few parts along the way, clean up some motor wiring, and update the power cord. The speed changer got a thorough cleanup and new paint and belts, and it w...

What’s Going On With All This Page Read Activity??!

Has anyone noticed the massive increase in page view activity here over the last month or so?? I started and have been consistently contributing to my “Share your Magna memorabilia!” thread for the last couple of years, and I was generally pleased if a new post got 500-600 views (based on the figure...

Re: Share your Magna memorabilia!

Shopsmith Model Lineup, Circa 1958 I recently acquired a very nice set of original publicity proofs from the Founding Fathers at Magna. In this one, Bob Chambers is looking over their multi-tool system lineup for somewhere around 1958. Hope he didn’t lean too heavily on that Mark 2, or it would be ...

Re: Share your Magna memorabilia!

NIB Sawsmith RAS Accessories - Part 1 Not too long ago, I showed an Add-A-Tool bracket that was included with a recent Sawsmith RAS purchase. Well, it seems like when it rains, it pours! eBay vendor recently posted an amazing collection of unused Sawsmith accessories, all new in box. Couldn’t resis...
