There is one on the bay now for about four dollars less than a new one from the mother ship. I'd go new if for no other reason than a warranty. There's another one that must have been listed today for 175 opening bid and buy now for 300. I've bid on a couple over the last year that looked good and ...

Welcome to the forum Mr.d ! Glad to answer your question. In my opinion, NO! It is not worth waiting for an older model. I am the guy that had all the problems with plastic wheels with brass bushings. I used the strip sander many hours with the standard equipment. It was only when I used it to sand...

Strip Sander

SS has $40.00 off retail for the strip sander until Tuesday. I've read numerous threads about the newer style bushings versus old style bearings on the idler pulleys. Seems as if most of the problems encountered originate when using the belt flipped around. True or not? I don't plan on using it in t...

Aside from the SS logo, is there anything special about this bench? Like maybe the height is compatible with the SS? SS table goes up & down so I'd think it would be difficult to set-up as either a in-feed or out-feed table for saw functions. Not impossible but not easily done. As far as being ...

I run across a CL posting the other day for a Shopsmith Woodworking bench. It was listed by This and That thrift store under sporting goods as a reloading table. I forgot to ask the seller why they thought it was a reloading table. I think my justification for buying the bench falls under reason #3...

Thanks for the good idea.

It has 2 metal dogs that didn't get into any of the pictures.

Is your Mustard Monster on wheels? Yes, it's on Zambus AC-300S leveling casters. My basement shop floor is sloped so each retractable caster has a different thickness wood shim under it. Even with shims, the thing hasn't moved a centimeter even with some out of balance pieces I've done. Very happy ...

The guy who bought it was from Covington, KY and was buying it as a retirement gift for one of his buddies.
