Re: Power Pro blows 220 circuit when switch on
You said If I plug it in to a 120 circuit it pops the GFI since that was what had to be installed in the garage to meet code. I have a 510 that runs fine on the same 120 circuit. If you read the instructions they say not to plug it into a GFI outlet. I plug mine into a regular 110 outlet downstream ...

Re: New Mark 7 ?
Jim,
I think you will be happy with your decision. The price difference of $450 between the Mark 7 and the Mark V 520 is partly made up in the additional accessories the Mark 7 comes with. If at any time you wish you can buy an extra standard headstock as a backup.

Re: Bandsaw Suggestions?
Hi Bruce, Maybe this history on the Shopsmith will help. Shopsmith is the name given to the tool itself in 1947 with the invention of this 5 in 1 tool, the Shopsmith Model 10E. The inventor and his partners formed Magna Engineering Corporation to make the Shopsmith Model 10E and later it became the ...

Re: New to Me Model 10E Serial Number 1077
Dick, I will not hesitate to use it but most of the time my Mark V/7 is the first one reachable. When I did the alignments I was able to get the table to hold at 1/1000 to the blade. I use an alignment plate/disk not a saw blade for alignments along with the Shopsmith Dial Indicator Gauge with a mit...

Re: Free Flexible Shaft Box
I have one in the box like the one in the picture but in better shape. It took me a while to find it for sale on it's own. There is one for sale, no box, with other arbors, 1/2" and 5/8", most are Shopsmith, for sale for 70 on ebay from the guy in Eagle Point OR that sells a lot of Model 1...

Re: Advice for Potential Buyer
There is confusion about the Mark VII and Mark 7 models. The Mark VII was made in the 1960's but it has marking on the machine that say both Mark VII, the more visual marking and on a small plate Mark 7. The 1960's model is generally referred to as a Mark VII. The new Mark 7 was released in 2010 and...

Re: Free Flexible Shaft Box
I am like John, I have them for my Model 10 collection. I have hardly used it. John asked Are you talking about the Magna adapter for the Jacobs 33B chuck? Was that adapter available separately from Magna? No, the drill chuck adapter was P/N 102-47X and could have been purchased separately with the ...

Re: Advice for Potential Buyer
Is this the Mark VII you are looking at? $matches[2] If so I would reconsider which model of Shopsmith you buy. The Mark VII (shown above) was made in the 1960's for only a few years. Replacement parts are all used ones or some that people have recreated and sell on sites like ebay. I would recommen...

Thank you all, I am pretty happy the way it came out. Below I placed everything as close as I could to copy Fig. 1 of the original manual. It's not perfect but close.

Re: Free Flexible Shaft Box
My two Magna/Shopsmith Flex Shafts are the same. I also have a Craftsman with a 1/2" bore which has a 1/2" threaded shaft on the other end that requires the Magna/Shopsmith adapter to use on the Shopsmith. The adapter was made for non-Magna/Shopsmith Flex Shafts.
