Storm door

My wife wanted a storm door for the back door. I would've bought a cheapish aluminum storm door, but my opening was just barely too narrow for any of the standard sizes. Instead of incurring the cost for a custom door, I decided to roll the dice on buying expensive wood and trying to make one. https...

Last I heard, painting hardwood is a criminal offense. :) The tour guide at the Gamble House in Pasadena told us of how the famous house was almost sold. The scion Gamble was getting old and put the house on the market. They reached a de...

Re: HVAC Question

I'm also not an HVAC pro or even all that knowledgeable. But, I assume your thermostat is something from this century, so there's some kind of computer in there. That may be one reason your heat doesn't come on immediately. Maybe the thermostat's computer and the furnace's computer have to achieve s...

Shopsmith Miter Gauge wish

The Shopsmith miter gauge, of course, works very well and includes some nice extras that an ordinary miter gauge doesn't. Re: POSSIBLEL HACK

This is a pretty standard scam. I have no idea how it works, but I've gotten similar bogus emails pretending to be from other people I know. If you haven't gotten a bogus email yet, you will.

John's right, ignore them.
