Shopsmith Fixed Stop Collars??
What are or were the fixed stop collars on the fixed tables intended to do, or are they just for general use? I have two fixed tables, one for each end of the Shopsmith if I need a second one (long stock or full sheets of plywood). I use the stop collars to keep them at a generally used height. I us...

Miter guage width
Being new to Shopsmith, I continue to learn about the system every day. I have two Rockler feather boards. I discovered they don't fit the SS miter slot (slightly wider). I assumed that the slots were 3/4" wide. Is that because of the groove in the miter slot that holds the miter guage, cross c...

Extra floating tables and adjustable legs
I recently upgraded a 510 to a 520 with parts from different sources. I have 2 extra floating tables, an extra fixed table and an extra set of extension legs. I had planned to sell these extra items but a friend of mine suggested I keep them to create more configuration options (like floating tables...

Shopsmith Jointer Heads?
Did Shopsmith make a smaller jointer in the past with 2 1/2" head/blades or has the jointer always had a 4" head and blades?

Alignment of worktable with powerhead
I have watched the critical alignment video where Nick aligns the miter slot on the worktable using a depth guage to a marked tooth on a saw blade. Doing this on a saw blade with carbide tips is tricky working down to 1/1000 to 2/1000. I seems to me it would be easier and potentially more accurate t...

Pro planer vs thickness planer?
Are there any real differences between the two Shopsmith planers other than the mounting systems? For example is the thickness planer adapted to mount on a power stand (with belt/pulleys/motor) really different from the pro planer on its pro planer stand?

Thank you to Troy for the links to the demonstration of the Wolverine System and the Shopsmith sharpening attachment for the strip sander. All good options to ponder as well as how much lathe work I will actually be doing. My other consideration is what to make from time to time that keeps my wife h...

Sharpening Lathe Chisels??
I am new to lathe work on the Shopsmith. What is the "best" way to keep lathe chisels sharp (guides, sanders, stones, grinders, etc) in the Shopsmith system?
