Re: Facebook Marketplace ad
I don't think there was any intent to deceive. The guys dad was a hoarder and this sat in a mobile home hallway since it was new. I did get one picture before I went. Everything else was in taped boxes. They just had no idea of what it was and picked the closest thing they could find. 143734259_2130...

Re: Facebook Marketplace ad
I know I will probably be chided for buying this but I couldn't help myself. There really really are 20 year old (new) Shopsmiths out there or at least there was one. Pictures will have to wait until tomorrow. All but the headstock, associated parts and tubes were still in there original boxes opene...

Facebook Marketplace ad
I bought another Shopsmith if you can believe that. Saw this ad and initially thought I was going to look at a Mark 7 PowerPro.
It wasn't!

Re: Heads Up - Bargain 'available'
This may be the deal of the week though. I bought this on Sunday. Lots of smalls including a keyless chuck, the jointer fence on the jointer and a newer version of the Shopsmith Shaper/Drum Sander Fence Kit that I didn't have. If it had been a Mark 7 as the ad had said I probably would have paid mor...

If you still have the Shopsmith I could pick it up this evening with cash in hand. Please text (910) 000-0000.
"Seems to be gone already. Not surprising. That was no bargain, it was a steal."
I was wondering why there were so many police on the road on my way home.

Re: SPT Mounting Posts
I'm not really having any issues with the bandsaw. I thought I remembered posts some time ago about the bandsaw mounts not going far enough into the bandsaw. Mine don't go very far into the top ring. I was thinking about getting a strip sander set and cutting them down just to see if it would be sol...

Re: SPT Mounting Posts
I am away from the shop for the day but just curious if anyone has tried the longer strip sander mounting posts on the bandsaw.

Re: A new owner of a shopsmith
Once upon a time there was a pointed rod sticking out from the center of the carriage. There are two positions along the rod that in conjunction with the red button align the saw blade in either the saw blade insert or the additional saw blade slot. https://forum.shopsmith.com/download/file.php?id=2...

Re: A new owner of a shopsmith
Really nice find. I have enjoyed using a Mark VII for several years. Take a care of the cam by regular oiling of the bearing and make sure the original switch is fully pressed when changing from forward to reverse and off. If you ever tear into the one with the Dayton (?) forward reverse switch pict...

Re: Shop Made Accessory Shelf
I cut out the saw guard hole on a new shelf today and found the guard was a little tight in the hole. I adjusted the dimensions in the file by 1/16" on both sides at the top in the Sketchup drawing.
