DVD's
I think it's a good idea, but I would like to see it for less than 25-30 dollars. I know there is alot of work involved, and I do recognize that it's worth that much - but that cost would be hard for me to justify. Could it be done for less cost to the user by simply posting the content in a downloa...

Thanks Bill
Thanks Bill. I replaced both the Gilmer and the drive belts before you posted here, so I couldn't make use of your advice, but I will keep it for the next go-around - much apprciated, thanks! All seems to be running well; I had my first experience with the lathe yesterday and must say it is FUN! Wha...

Wanted: Spray Finisher and Flexible Shaft
I am hoping to find the vintage spray finisher with compressor and the vintage flexible shaft unit for my 1960 Mark V. I realize that these are pretty scarce, but I figured this would be the place to ask. Has anyone ever seen these on ebay? Thanks, Alec

Cleaning tubes
Ouagawood - I started on the way tubes with WD 40 and a bunch of green Scotchbrite pads. Lots of elbow grease and paper shop rags! I then moved to medium and then fine steel wool. It took a while, but worked well. The lower support tubes were originally painted silver. I did the same routine with th...

Thanks
Thanks fellas - the paints were all Rustoleum both the hammered finish in gold and copper and a silver that was designed for outdoor use for the lower tubes - The silver went on very thin, took many coats, and a full can for the two tubes. Thanks again! Alec

Thanks guys
Thanks alot fellows. It really speaks volumes about the simple and efficient design of the Shopsmith that I was able to tear the whole thing down and put it all back together. I am not the worlds most mechanically inclined person, but the Shopsmith really is simple to work on. It reminds me of a For...
