First Project- Critique

Hey all- Here is my first completed project-it gave me some exposure to various tools on the SS I recently purchased and was overall a good learning experience. I'd like your critical input on the result. The wife had brought some German breakfast boards with her when she moved over and they have be...

Re: Drum sander/ shaper fence for model 500

Thanks for the shaper fence link.

Is there any more information links on the fence maintenance or operation and setup?

One of the micro adjustment knobs on mine feels kinda crunchy inside .

Re: Overhead Routing with Fence

One thing i noticed scanning thru the routing and shaping sections of the link above, it seems like for most overhead routing conditions shown that require a featherboard, the featherboard is usually setup to limit horizontal displacement. Whereas in shaping mode, the featherboards tend to be limiti...

Re: Overhead Routing with Fence

I do have a shaper fence..havent looked at it yet. Based on the link you sent, would this be the preferable configuration for a shaper fence process?

Re: Overhead Routing with Fence

Thanks Dick - Yes the bit does have a wheel bearing. Of course the wood is too thin for it to be much use unless I tape my piece onto a larger board-which I intend to do. Are you suggesting just running it without any fence or featherboards ? You are right though- I do need to make up a t-nut fence....

Overhead Routing with Fence

Hey all - moving along on my first project and considering using the overhead router mode to roundover some boards. Most of the images in the manuals show a fence setup which places the fence behind the bit with feed from left to right. However-my boards are a bit too wide to setup this way, so I am...

Re: Mark V DVD Collection

I don't have a full set, but i did receive the PowerPro upgrade one and the calibration alignment one. Both are informative, unfortunately the video quality is low so many times I am frustrated that I cant see exaclty what is being pointed out. Have a look at the video quality in the Sawdust session...

Nice Ed- as I get older, I appreciate the birds more. We have House Wrens, White Breasted Nuthatches, Cardinals, Carolina Chickadees, House finch, mourning Doves, Rose Breasted Grosbeaks, Blue Jays, Robins, Eastern Towhees, Red bellied Woodpeckers, and a few more I haven't yet identified visiting ou...
