I know there are conditions were the setup can leave 2 tools connected to the power head unit but I think its not a good idea in general from a safety point of view. Well- i like your idea of clamping some MDF to the table and then aligning to its surface.

Maybe a table size piece of mdf with some places for attachments , like a small vise etc...solves the problem for both big and small pieces.

I've never looked at mine that closely, though i do see table deflection when the drill comes into contact with the wood-more like radial deflection from the mount point on the way tubes. Is the deflected area that large ? I mean if your stock spans over the deflected area of the table, it may be a ...

Alright-finally worked my way thru this little project. In the end I took Roberts advice and ran the base cuts on the table saw. This left little work to be done by sanding etc prior to glue up of the sticks. The holder-came from a block glue up of some walnut I had aorund, then cutting it out to en...

Well-the PowerPro headstock weighs about 70 lbs..so i dont think you are near a weigh limit but that does look like it need some further securing :)

Could still add more trim- but its getting dark.
