Re: Trump Tax Cut
"Mr. Paxton has accepted reassignment as Assistant Director at the Huntington VAMC in West Virginia." (From the link John posted, above.) John, if director Shulkin was REALLY trying to help, Paxton's head would be on a pike! Instead, he got ANOTHER chance to screw up Veterans' lives. At le...

My take on "pallet" wood. About 30 years ago, I lived in Lawton Oklahoma. Had a friend who worked at the local Yamaha bike shop. These guys got bikes shipped to them, on a pallet, with a frame to hold the top cardboard on. These were used, only once. I was able to score a whole LOAD of Lau...

My brother takes an Adult Ed night class,
for woodworking. The shop has a
Woodmizer as well. Great machine.
Major reason for taking the class, is to
use the Woodmizer, and the other LARGE
tools, he's been going for 3 or 4 semesters.

Didn't mention my "original,"
Just the later copies.
Sometimes, I think ShopSmith
doesn't like Cast Iron!
Seriously, the ad did it's job.

"We blew up Bimini island..."
Not quite. It was Bikini island.
Bimini, in the Caribbean.
Bikini, south Pacific. After Mistake II,
my father was a "super cool guy" at those
islands. (Super cool guy, cryogenics tech.)

Re: 10ER repair
Some of the not normally used set screws were filled with putty, from the factory. This may be one. For the best rust cutter, use a cheap trans fluid, mixed 50/50 with acetone. Better and cheaper than Kroil, wd 40, or even Boeshield. (Boeshield is a rust preventer, not a rust remover.) Yes, it did s...

Re: A down-side to my basement shop
Francis, Gary, sorry to rain on your parade here, BUT, 80 degrees yesterday, and 78 today. Midnight to about 10 AM, heater on. 10 to 2, nothing. 2 to 6, AC. I've got a new Cast Iron 12 inch Lodge Deep skillet, I'm waiting to put a second coat of seasoning on. Soon as it is cool enough, the oven will...

Guys, "global warming" or "Climate change" is for real! Now, the REAL question, is it natural or man-made? Sorry to get political here, but AlGore SCREAMED global warming, and got an Emmy, Webby, Clio, Oscar, and a Nobel Prize for it. You want to see some REAL shockers, look at A...

Re: Shopsmith Model 10E table saw turns slowly
Hi, My dad has an old Shopsmith Model 10E that I am trying to get up to snuff and it has a table saw that turns at a very slow crawl that I'd like to fix. I don't know if the parts are old or if I need to adjust something. Thanks if you can help. OK, looking at this picture, the speedchanger is set...
