Re: National Woodworking Month - How are you going to celebrate?
I have a brand new 3hp cyclone in the shop and a bunch of spiral pipe and fittings. Once the last box of fittings shows up sometime next week, I'm finally going to install real dust collection in my shop vs three shop vacs and a broom.

Re: I finally have a router
That's an outstanding deal, and these routers are rock solid. I've had it's predecessor the 693 for 25 years and never a hint of an issue with it.

Re: Questions for those who have actual paint on your shop walls.
My old shop didn't have good lighting and had low ceilings so it was all white. When I built the new shop, I added 20 recessed can lights and a dozen halogen spots in a 26x26 shop so lighting isn't an issue. The ceiling is 10' and flat white. The walls are light yellow which cuts down the harshness ...

Re: Your Favorite Non-Shopsmith Accessory for Your Shopsmith?
I would also have to go with my Stockroom Supply drum sander. Moving to the ShopSmith from a standalone unit had the following advantages. For me, the working height is much better. The table top used to be about 46" high when it was sitting on my bench which was a little bit too high for me to...

Speed dial knob/post question
I have a 510 that I bought used and after throrough cleaning and lubrication, the speed dial turns much more smoothly than it did when I got it. My question is:
Is the knob on the speed dial supposed to spin freely when turning the dial?
Mine sort of turns but it is really stiff.

Re: Festool Prices going up again
Check out their refurb offers. I picked up a C18 drill for about $100 off the new price last fall. It looked new as if someone bought it and had buyer's remorse. Other than the Conturo edge bander, I think I have all the Festools I need for a while. With two of my daughters getting married this summ...

Re: A down-side to my basement shop
Can you imagine the heating bill to heat a garage in this weather? I don't have to imagine it. My shop is a two car garage that is heavily inuslated, R50 Ceilings and R38 foamed walls with an electric heater. The elctric bill for the shop is about $150-200 a month this time of year. For what it's w...

Re: Need 5-Inch Orbit Sander
One of the nice things about the Ridgid power tools is the Lifetime service agreement. You must register the tool to activate it. I have two of the Ridgid R2600 5" Random Orbit Sanders and after five or six years, the power switch on one failed. Ridgid replaced it. You might save a few bucks on...
