CAVEAT CAVEAT CAVEAT CAVEAT CAVEAT This wiring diagram is intended as an EXAMPLE; NOT to imply YOUR 10ER Motor is the SAME. This is from a mid 60's GOLDIE. You can see that IF running 115v, the two winding leads are connected in Parallel. When running 230v, the windings are con...

From what I have been told, by my wife's brother, this 10ER was definitely powered by 220v. The motor plate does say 220 / 110 as its power sources. However there is no indication of wiring differences for each source. I am an electronics technician and have done a lot of wiring over the years on r...

Anyone ever tried using a cork belt on a Strip Sander? They are used similar to leather strops for fine polishing of metal and glass, and I'm interested in dressing and polishing edges of cut glass. I've found cork belts in 1x42" size, but curious if anyone else has tried them. What are they b...

Shopsmith lists the swing of the lathe and the drill press at 16 1/2" but the drive center is only about 6 1/4" above the ways. Are they wrong or am I missing something? WHERE did 6 1/4" come from??????   Did you measure it at the tail end with the stop ...

I think you have already both determined the cause and the solution. I believe you have LOW GARAGE POWER!;) I would NOT continue 'pushing' the motor with what is probably a brownout condition(low voltage/hard on motors)'. You referred to it as a mark 5 AND you said it had a 1 1/8HP motor. From this ...

Mine is 5/8" and seemed to be slightly oversized when I tried putting router chuck on it(another thread). The 5/8" coupler fit just fine. The chuck is MUCH longer! Does the BS have the mounting tubes? What diam is the BS shaft 'inside' the flat? BTW the hubs come in two sizes(1/2" and...

You just put on the nose plugs that are taped to the bottom of the can....they works get. They guarantee you won't smell a thing. Home Depot and Lowe's both carry it. It is misleading advertising. It's odor reduced as compared to regular mineral spirits but to call it odorless is a stretch. Think I...
