Re: German child's chair copies

Nice job duplicating the chair! Good workout of the Shopsmith platform.

Spectacular sunsets. I'm curious how far away those mountains on the horizon are.

Re: Cordless Power Tool Battery Prices

Local ad for Ace Hardware has this for the DeWalt batteries good until Dec 24th. Many Milwaukee and Craftsman cordless tools are also on sale, but I didn't see any of the big batteries listed.

Re: Black Plastic Bandsaw Knobs

Wrong knobs Hobbyman2. The OP is looking for the cover knobs, which thread onto a bolt. They aren't used on the new band saws anymore, at least according to the exploded view.

Re: Black Plastic Bandsaw Knobs

I believe these from Rockler would fit. Double check yours to verify.

Edit: My 1990 band saw knob fits a 5/16-18 bolt.

Re: Wrapping a Board around a Box... a start

Woodsmith Magazine April 1986 Issue 44 has plans for a wooden briefcase. I considered making it at the time, but thought it might be too heavy. Woodsmith Magazine always had very good step by step plans.

I was disappointed it didn't work for my Model 500, but it's still a good tip. If I ever get a 520, I'll be using it. Thanks for posting it.

Re: Raising saw table to clear blade before sliding table

The method suggested doesn't work on my 1986 Model 500--there is still about 5/8" of the 10" blade showing above the table surface.

This one at Grainger looks like it fits the bill.
