I had this problem with mine on resaw until i added a teflon screw to hold the guide shaft from moving side to side. I could actually see it shifting during the resaw cut. Alright- he did 3 polyurethane coats and doesn't want to do more ...but it definitely came out great and we had a good time in the making of it. I had that problem of battery updates with my old Ryobi cordless drill + flashlight (nicd i think). Ryobi stopped supporting it (after many years) but would ya know it- a Chinese manufacturer made a replacement which has allowed me to continue to use it, although I have also upgraded to a 20V Dewalt...

I looked at that and wondered what parts of that list are needed to build a power station?

Might be a good time to consider cobbling one together.
