Was there a lower guard for the 10ER? I keep hearing about it, but never have seen one. Has someone just made one. That open blade under there does bother me at times..... Dick I saw a picture posted somewhere once of a 10er lower saw guard that had been made from an old stainless steel pot and lid...

The cord is not original, it's a gray "appliance" grade cable with a good sturdy end. doesn't look frayed or worn to me, but what the heck, I can change it. Cable is crazy expensive these days. If it has been replaced it may be ok. I thought you were dealing with an original 60 year old c...

I tried to start the Mark V today, after lubing everything visible and using the sander to lower the speed to its lowest, as suggested. It ran for about 30 seconds before popping the breaker. The cord was getting hot . I tried adjusting the sped, but the dial popped out towards me a bit and made a ...

To mount MkV SPTs on a 10ER you need a . Original ones are rare but MKC tools makes them and I think Shopsmith10er.com used to make them but I don't see them listed now. I have also seen pictures on the Yahoo Shopsmith10ERusers site of people who made their own adapters from wo...

Hi Craig. Welcome to the forum.:) I live just down the road from you in Colwood so we are almost neighbours. I have seen a few Mk V 520's and some 510's come up for sale locally but the majority are 500's. When you search on line do "Shopsmith" and "Shop Smith", you will get more...
