This is truly sad news....Hopefully Shopsmith will hang on.

Nick and Drew, thanks for all your efforts.

Use the search engine here and the other thread regarding these will pop up.

SpaceageCeramicGuideblocks.com is the source. Nick Osa is a fine and honest gentleman to deal with....Much like all in the SS community.

I have found the ceramic blocks the best add on to my band saw I could imagine. I think they are great. I had the "cool blocks"....no comparison.

I prefer to use my sled(s) whenever possible. My cuts come out dead square. I would recommend a tip that one of the TA instructors gave me years ago. The miter gauge and the sled both will have a little "slop" riding in the miter track. To eliminate the effect, apply a slight amount of to...

Go with a quality 10" thin kerf. I've a '54 Magna upgraded to a 520. A sharp thin kerf blade makes a world of difference even on my '99 520. DO however, get the correct guard and dust collection system. Keep your eye on eBay. You may have to upgrade to a 505 setup first. Ask one of the very co...

Depends on your definition of "decent". This cheap old soldier uses a dumpster dived old solid wooden desk, that is on casters. I can cover it with "sanding/router pads", pound on it, drill holes, store plans.....move it around the shop. Price was right....Zero. Size is big enou...

IMO those eccentrics are not worth the money. I purchased a set (555626) with my initial order only to return them for a refund. While they will allow you to keep the band saw mounted while placing the Mark V into "drill press", I found they allow for an unstable band saw table. The flat ...

Okay...if the upgrade bug bites you, hang on dearly to the old 500 carriage and table. Go to the thread Mark V 500 carriage and see how to recycle. Dusty was kind enough to post my pictures. Sure took care of the gripes you have....and added some nice roll around adjustable tables to my shop. I lov...

Yup...again. http://www.shopsmithacademy.com/Sawdust_Sessions.htm Just sit and watch Nick knock that old puppy apart. Ain't that hard. Remember, this thing was designed in the 50's. I would recommend that you follow along with a SS catalog and the "blow up" parts diagrams. I dun it....U k...
