Re: Which tool do you fear the most?

unrelated to woodworking-but ending in bloody damage - i was training a technician in a lab how to dis-assemble an LED package with a small exacto thru a microscope. She was on the trainer scope and i was on the main doing my knife magic thru the scope zoomed way in...all of a sudden the whole view ...

Which tool do you fear the most?

Sure they are all dangerous and require proper awareness..but I find my router is the tool that puts me most on edge- no pun intended !

Its strange as I havent had any dangerous moments with it, but i use it alot less than other tools-so maybe the unfamiliarity plays into it.

Wow Paul- thats quite a process. I'll take some pieces of it for getting my vise presentable, but perhaps not museum quality ! Thank you.

Paul- can you list the steps you take to clean up those surfaces? Your results are great and I'd like to
give it a try myself !

Re: My new business venture

Very nice work Buckeye. I wish you all the best on this new adventure. I sometimes dream at night about marrying my semiconductor fabrication background to woodworking tools...then drift off to sleep :) Making this compatible with the existing hardware accessories will go a long way toward adoption. b

Re: Why do I need a 10 position Quick-Index Quill Feed?

Like Algale-I upgraded to the 10 position magnetic with 2 hubs from the standard single lever. It doesn't add any torque compared to the standard lever, its roughly the same length, but it is great during setup to have 10 positions available to put the lever in just the right "up" position...

Re: Woodpeckers AUTO-LINE DRILL GUIDE ™

I'll be watching the discussion- I'm interested in having one at some point-they all seem to have some advantages/disadvantages at the moment.

Re: Woodpeckers AUTO-LINE DRILL GUIDE ™

The base seems alot lighter than the other options...I wonder about its stability during drill. Atleast in the last seconds of the video, I can see it moving as he penetrates the wood surface. There doesn't seem to be a very "handy" location to hold it down.
