Ed, friction may very well be the problem. BTW, I was doing a ripping operation with my rip fence. Your thoughts on the following: I checked the alignment of the blade with a dial indicator guage-with the infeed side of the blade set to zero, the outfeed side was +.003, or tilting right by that amou...

Great responses
Thanks guys, I value your input and suggestions. I think the router with a clamped guide would be the way to go. A router mounted in a table would also be good, if I could come up with a fence that I could set several inches from the bit to rout repetitive cuts. I made a portable router table that I...

Cutting dados in 3/4" plywood
I needed to make several dados in the plywood sides of three cabinets for locating and securing shelves. I installed my dado blade set up to cut 3/4"wide dados. I needed 3/8" deep dados. Because the cabinet sides were about 24" wide, I couldn't use my crosscut sled so I installed my r...

flip-up rip fence stop
i just received my new flip-up rip fence stop and installed it on my 520 fence. Other than my desire to purchase a new toy for my ss, I think I'm failing to find the maximum usefullness of the stop. For repetitive drill press operations, I get it. For ripping, all I can see is using it for stopped d...

thank you for the replies
Thanks guys, good advise. I appreciate the help.
Larger sheets of ply are very difficult to feed properly. Will return to my circular saw and clamp guide for cutting larger pieces of ply.
Regards
Bob

cutting birch plywood/tripping breaker
While making several cuts of birch plywood making cabinent sides and shelves, I noticed my blade getting dull and eventually burning the wood. I used a new 80 tooth ss plywood blade. At one point the saw stalled and tripped the breaker and another time the blade wobbled (checked everything and blade...

rookie mistake with jointer
I know I made a mistake.....I face glued six 12" 2x4's to form a block that measured 12x9x3 1/2. Because the ends were not even, I passed the end grain through my Shopsmith jointer. OOPS, big mistake. That jointer bit that end grain and my accessory coupler blew into four pieces. Luckily no inj...
