Re: Mark VII Low Speed Too Fast
Miken Absolute speed is really not extremely important. Close should be good enough. Within 100 RPM or so should be good. 800 RPM on the bandsaw is about 2400feet per minute. Most bandsaw speeds are about 700 to 750 FPM so I do not consider your readings to be a problem. The speed can de affected by...

The SS spindle is 5/8 inch. Penn State Industries sells an adapter part # L5818 for the conversion.

Re: weak MKVII motor
How about front to rear table alignment. This can also cause the blade to bind and can be confused with other symptoms. Electric motors don't usually go "weak". If the windings get burned or scorched they will continue to function until the windings either short or open. If the motor is ac...

Re: de sta co look-a-likes?
I had to look up De Sta co clamps to understand what you guys were referring to. Did you ever try this site? Prices seem a bit better. I have bought some from this site and I am very pleased. They hold very well.

Re: Which tool do you fear the most?
My wife likes to watch HGTV. I have to admit that I like it too. Some good advice comes on a show that she watches called Hometown. In the mail lead's shop there is a sign that says "The best safety device is a careful worker". Certainly words to live by.

Re: Novice or Pro
Everett About 4 years ago one of our woodworking club members lost a finger while using our new Grizly table saw. There was nothing wrong with the table saw but he should have used the band saw for what he was doing. After that incident we sold the Grizzly saw and bought a Sawstop saw. We raised the...

Re: Mark V not slowing down past H on speed dial
Did you clean and polish the motor shaft and the control sheave shaft ? If there is dirt or other debris on those shafts then the speed control will probably hang up and bind. I polish the motor shaft using crocus cloth and bring it to a bright finish and the same for the control sheave shaft. When ...
