JPG, I definitely agree with you. But I do know they love Phil’s BBQ. Pinky? Don’t know what that is.

Re: 10ER Speed Changer and Belt Tensioning

Thank you for the explanation and the speed changer document, Russ. I was hoping I wouldn’t have to adjust the belt tension so often, since that motor is so heavy and the set screw behind the speed changer gets hidden by it, especially when in the high speed configuration. Since I’m not getting luck...

Re: mickyd here.  Gifted my ER10 to a friend. He needs admin registration help

That chapmanruss, that I think mickyd put that carriage bolt there to keep from accidentally bending the table lift screw. What looks like a spot where the bolt would hit is actually a little rubber pad to keep from chipping the paint. There’s a matching carriage bolt on the other side of the carria...

10ER Speed Changer and Belt Tensioning

I used The 10ER speed changer setup instructions that Skip (MKC Tools) wrote up and was able to get the 10ER operating well on the lower speed changer settings. Even after I got the pulleys aligned, and the speed changer bushings cooled back down, the SC still seemed to make a lot of clacking sounds...

Re: Grateful New Owner (Custodian?) of Mickyd’s SS 10ER

Thank you Russ, I appreciate the update to the owner’s guide. I’ve printed out a bunch of the applicable documentation, put it in a notebook next to my woodworking bench for frequent reference in the shop, and this will be added to it. I’ve read a lot already, and watched Nick Engler’s Sawdust video...

Re: Problems registering as new member of forum

Thanks Dusty. I would like to change to use the user ID (Joncast) and e-Mail address I attempted to register with last week, but I think an admin would need to delete that account before I could make the change.

Re: mickyd here.  Gifted my ER10 to a friend. He needs admin registration help

Many thanks to my friend Mickyd for gifting me this fine piece of American machinery, and in such incredible shape. And in response to rjent, yes, I am thoroughly enjoying it. Still have a lot to learn about it so I can make it work for me, but today I worked out the process to accurately rabbet a c...

Problems registering as new member of forum

Hello everyone, I’m very glad to finally get registered as a new member to this forum, although not with the user ID and E-Mail address that I would very much prefer to use. And many thanks to my friend Mike (mickyd) for attempting to get some help from the group, as unregistered viewers have no acc...

Grateful New Owner (Custodian?) of Mickyd’s SS 10ER

I am the proud new owner of mickyd’s ShopSmith 10ER, S/N 72883. When I spoke to Mike a week and a half ago I told him I had recently begun woodworking therapy to relieve stress and anxiety from my job and the pandemic world, he told me that if I came and picked it up, I could have his resurrected SS...
