Original 10ER Sales Receipt

My latest Shopsmith purchase came with quite a bit of paperwork. One Item I found quite interesting is the original sales receipt dated 10-10-50. The serial number on the machine is R39267. My research on Palace Hardware came up with very little. The receipt shows 3 locations in San Francisco. I man...

Re: Bad day for my book

The fact that something came loose inside your hard drive sounds bad. Normally I would recommend a Ghost recovery. But that may not work.
Maybe a computer repair shop can recover your data.
It's worth asking.

I was answering this statement you made in post 253499:
I understand, why do you think I have one.
Do we have a Who's on first? situation?

I see the difference now. Oh well. Wishful thinking I guess.

Shopsmith parts found on Craigslist:
https://abbotsford.craigslist.ca/tls/d/ ... 89896.html

In Fraser Valley Canada and seller will not ship anything.
In photo 13 the part on the right appears to be the legendary hinge plate for the 4E Jointer.

Re: Shopsmith vintage Ads

You have been busy.
The thing that got me about that ad was showing the 15" swing on the lathe. 15" is a really tight fit!

Re: 10ER Headstock Pulley Guard

The 'side' boss and screw are to retain the bearing spacer that separates the two drive sleeve bearings. That's it. And I found this quote from a PDF from Everett: Original Machine Headstock Cast had a threaded mount on the left front of the headstock that was moved to the back. That's the change I...

Re: 10ER Headstock Pulley Guard

Found this photo in Shop Notes #3. It shows the 2 Step Pulley being used.
Note the side hole for a pulley guard. And a Shopsmith badge on the back side with no place for a serial number.
Is the 2 Step pulley maybe a rare accessory?
I know, I'm easily amused.

Re: 10ER Headstock Pulley Guard

It does appear flatter than normal. If it was a prototype belt cover then wouldn't they need the 2 step pulley? The 2 Step pulley was offered in most of the early accessory brochures. So they knew it was an issue to crosscut long thick boards. In some 10ER manuals I scanned I found these two photos....
