I agree 100%. With proper maintenance, that old Goldie will run for another 50 years on its Gilmer drive.

After watching the video, I'm trying to figure out why the driver kept turning the steering wheel. There's a section detailing the turning, and it appears to use independent power to each side to turn, similar to a tank tread. Makes sense, but the guys on the tractor and the car keep using the steer...

It appears to have a hole (covered by a plug) right above the warning label in image #3 that I cannot explain. I've had a few units with a plug mounted in the same location. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Frankly, never paid it much attention, but I'll keep an eye out if there is a p...

Looks like January, 1981. Here's the link for the serials by month and year. I was scratching my head over the first number you posted with the Rev D, as it didn't look like any serial number I'd ever seen!

On a very positive note, my order for 12 service parts and manual placed on Monday, January 25 arrived complete on Tuesday, February 2! I had called in earlier and spoke with Jan, was very concerned when she said several of the items were on backorder. Whatever magic happened, I couldn't be more ple...

I've seen Mark VII's in the Atlanta area priced between $200 and $500. They don't come up very often here.

Posting items for sale on this site is a definite no-no. It's hosted by Shopsmith, which still markets complete machines and parts. This would have been in the user agreement you agreed to when signing up on the site.

About everything else Shopsmith-related is open game for postings, though.

Couple of real-world examples for Harbor Freight tools in a manufacturing environment... We started purchasing their paint guns to use for glue applications in our upholstery process. Our previous guns were DeVilbiss, I think, costing $300. Rebuild kits for the DV guns were $40 versus a new cheapo g...

I'm with Bill. He did a great job on one of my dials, very nice guy to deal with - will either rework your existing dial or send you one in exchange.
