Re: Just got a 10E
That is Skip's chart and one confusing part of it is checking column 3 labeled Prefix . Those are the prefix letter(s) that preceded some of the serial numbers. As JPG said the information was provided by the owners of each of those Model 10E and 10ER Shopsmith's. I have seen inaccuracies in the inf...

Re: Mark V Dust Collection - Is There a Better Way??
Firechief2501, I'm not sure which Lower Saw Blade Guard you have but from your description I am guessing it is the later one for the Mark V 500 as shown in the PDF below. The PDF linked here is from this Shopsmith website. https://shopsmith.com/wp-content/uploads/manuals/845197-FREE.pdf Although the...

Re: Just got a 10E
A couple more bits of info for you. You said I looked up some info...looks like March 1950 model if looking at the chart correctly. 10E s/n 22190 I'm not sure what chart you are looking at but 10E S/N 22190 would likely have been made in 1948. By 1950 they were Model 10ER Shopsmith tools. BuckeyeDen...

Re: Just got a 10E
Your picture below has numbers on some of the parts to identify them. Parts not numbered are not Shopsmith parts. It is common for non-Shopsmith parts to get mixed in after so many years. _ etaubenn accessories numbered.jpg . 1 Main Table Assembly with Fence (minus posts) 2 Metal Extension Table (go...

Re: New Shopsmith Owner
Kevin, I'm glad you were able to contact Skip. As you said he is a Super helpful and genuine nice guy to talk to. If you are talking about the NTN Bearings HogWinslow 1960 sells on ebay they are a good option to the original Fafnir 205KLL2 Drive Sleeve Bearings and Fafnir 202KLL3 Quill Bearings. I h...

Re: Very old shopsmith
As John said serial number E-3099 would be from 1948 and is a Model 10E made in the Eastern Plant. It should look very similar to the 1947 Model 10E shown in the picture below. _ 1077 Reassemblied.jpg . This one has all the accessories shown that originally came with a Model 10E except a 5/8" A...

Re: Is it worth it?
I don't know how many Power Pro units have needed repair or more importantly what percentage of Power Pro Headstock sold have had problems. JPG has said it best Reeves mechanical drives are simple and reliable. Stepping motors and control circuitry are complicated and more prone to failure. Such is ...

Re: Help identifying parts
tprowood, At the time your Shopsmith was made there was only one model the Mark 5. Notice I called it a Mark 5 and not Mark V which changed in 1980 to using the Roman numeral instead of the number. The Shopsmith tool itself didn't change at that time. When Shopsmith Inc. (the company) introduced the...
