Re: My new to me shopsmith mark v took a little bath

Dunk it in a kiddie pool full of rice maybe? ;) In all seriousness though, definitely get fans on it pronto to dry it out. Could even use a leaf blower or compressed air to try to get any trapped moisture out of the headstock. Also, wouldn't hurt to clean the waytubes, tables, etc. immediately and g...

Re: Padding a surface??

Ed,

What about crubber (cork/nitrile rubber)? This is the stuff that is used as a vise liner. It shouldn't mar the surface and has some grip (non-slip).

Re: DC3300 suction power?

Thanks Ed. Yeah, I agree. The units don't matter for my case because both used a 2-1/2" hose so the aperture was identical between the DC-3300 and the ShopVac, so it was a relative measurement comparison between the two. Bottomline is the ShopVac was noticeably better than my DC-3300 both in me...

Re: DC3300 suction power?

I don't think an anemometer is a good measure of airflow. Speed of airflow, sure. But, the anemometer ignores how much air is being moved. Kind of the difference between voltage and current. I can blow through a straw at, say, 10 mph. But, I can't come close to the airflow of your screened-in porch...

Re: Woodpeckers MORTY - loose tenon router jig

Yeah, not trying to talk anyone into or out of this product, but it does appear to be of limited value (from my perspective). If you are fortunate enough to already have all of the router bits and a good router, then MORTY would ONLY be an incremental cost of $500. As Ed mentioned a full set of rout...

Re: Beefy 10ER cart

Yeah, if I ever get to changing the height of my Mark V, I am going to use this cart as an example for a base for it. I like everything about it...except that large cabinet.

Re: Shop Vac closing doors

JPG,

Well, I tend to believe that facts are facts, but I guess these days everyone has their own "truth". I didn't realize the forum had gotten acquired by Facebook. My apologies...I just didn't understand WHAT they were objecting to.

Woodpeckers MORTY - loose tenon router jig

For anyone who has enough money to buy a Festool Domino, but that doesn't want to, Woodpeckers has come out with the MORTY. For $500 plus a router you can now make loose tenon joints more slowly than with a Festool Domino. https://www.woodpeck.com/morty-loose-tenon-jig.html MORTY.jpg https://www.you...

Beefy 10ER cart

This just happened to pop up in my YouTube feed and thought it may be of interest to members here. I like it, except for the large cabinet on the end...kind of makes it hard to crosscut anything long.
