Re: how do I post photos to this forum?
While you are writing (or later editing) your post you then move down to Upload an Attachment which takes you to Browsing for it, then uploading it,then positioning your cursor at the place in your text where you want it, then select place inline. Watch that you first select the right image after up...

Re: Grandson's shield
Very neat project. My thoughts went to Scouting I guess almost immediately, followed by the badge of wood and "Wood Badge and thinking there is a patrol of folks here in the forums that it would be an honor and privilege to spend a week with. There's a mountain top experience I would treasure. ...

Re: Where to sell Scroll Saw
There used to be a Classified section on SS Forum?? I'm reluctant to sell on CL anymore due to the problems in our town doing so and I thought at one point there was a classified section here? I have a new Jig/Scroll saw I picked up but like the previous owner have never used it. Already have a Heg...

Re: What's this? I have no idea
My estimate is it is a vintage wire / line dispenser, as the cam follower yoke would move as unspooling ribbon from a spindle mounted between the centers as material came off. It could have been multi-purpose and have done wire, twine, etc. I have seen some similar devices in general appearance used...

Re: Are YOUR Files All Backed Up?
There are on-line backup solutions such as Carbonite, iDrive and others who offer on-line backup services, some with no limit on what you can back up there, that are reasonably priced. Some are fully automated, and occur automatically overnight etc. Hardware failure, theft, fire, tornado whatever, t...

Re: Modified live center
I had a similar issue when I was polishing way and bench tubes and wanted a more secure solution. I contemplated modifying this for a drum sanding solution down the road and discussed it a bit in that post. You could do something like this, and as an added benefit, the bearings are rated at the full...

Re: Bearings off ebay...
There are quite a number of posts dealing with bearings and I know MickyD, Jacob Anderson, JPG, Dusty and others are quite expert in helping identify the various configurations we encounter. I have seen the various manufacturers out there. Sealed vs Shielded is often a question we see discussed. Shi...

Re: 10 ER restoration
There was a fellow in England a few years back that raised his and he added shallow drawers in that space. Since you are doing yours over, you have lots of options. Do take lots of pictures and post them of your progress. I feel certain that some forum members will have thoughts to contribute along ...

Re: Getting started electrically diagnosing your Shopsmith motor
I was wondering if anyone would pick up on the photo I used from Bill Mayo's post showing the capacitor on the back. That GE motor actually uses a start relay opposed to a centrifugal switch to accomplish the start up. Since no one has mentioned it, I thought I had better mention it should you have ...
