Re: Power Pro headstock cooling

Not sure if I'm explaining properly. By sealing the intake part of the fan shroud to the inside of the motor pan it can only pull air in from the outside through the new hole made in the end of the motor pan. So the outside air coming in through the fan and blowing over the motor should create a sli...

Re: Power Pro headstock cooling

I found this thread while looking for info on heat problems with the powerpro when it was mentioned in the recent competitors thread. I did not know this was a problem as I am thinking about buying one. Since I am rebuilding a headstock I decided to look at that. The original motors have a fan that ...

On my double bearing quill I went a step further and installed a wave washer behind the rear bearing an...

Re: ShopSmith Complaint

I can sure understand your frustration. I worked for Shopsmith back in the 90's and knew the wealth of info the staff had back then because we all worked with the older models and knew them. Then there is even more info with the intro of the newer models and many changes that are still used today. U...

Re: Request Help with Speed Control Issues

I just checked my functional machine and looking at it compaired to many of your photos and the one showing the measurement on the bottom sheave. It appears to me that your bottom sheave does not open far enough. It appears that your bottom sheave is about 5/16 of an inch short of the 1-5/8 inches I...
