Re: 3.5HP Router or Spindle Purchase???

[quoteust curious...what kind of speed control do you use with it? Wondering if you use the router's speed control to set it at 18,000 RPM or if you use an external controller. Since mine will be inside of a dust cabinet inside of another cabinet, I was planning on leaving the router set to full thr...

Re: 3.5HP Router or Spindle Purchase???

I have had the Milwaukee router in my table for several years now and it is the best router I have owned. I also have a water cooled spindle in my CNC but I think that is over kill for a table router. The Milwaukee has plenty of power and is quite for a standard router when run at 18000 RPM which is...

Re: Shaper Origin Question - where to see one in action???

I finally had some success convoluted as it is. I drew the vector in Aspire with the triangle placed where it needs to be but just as a shape, not filled. Then I saved as an SVG. I used Powerpoint to open the SVG. Just click insert a picture and select SVG format. Then Convert to Shape and ungroup i...

Re: Shaper Origin Question - where to see one in action???

I use Aspire as my fundamental drawing app along with Sketchup, the two have very good interoperability. I have always been able to make SVGs from it to satisfy the SO until now. When I create a red filled triangle and export it as a SVG it looks fine when viewed in the Chrome browser. But when down...

Re: Shaper Origin Question - where to see one in action???

Ed, speaking of the new SO software, I have not figured out how to generate the red triangle in Sketchup or Fabber for precise SVG placement yet. Have you had any luck with it?

Re: The ProStop Digital Fence System

Steve - Very nice. Could you provide a cross-section picture of the extrusion with something in it for scale without disturbing your setup? Are these 'standard' T-slots? - David They are larger than standard T-slots. Look at the first YouTube video in the post at the 7 or 8 minute mark. They show s...

Re: The ProStop Digital Fence System

Look at the 7:52 mark in the first video. It shows the encoder and scale in very close up detail. The rails can be cut by the user or by the company before shipment. I saw no reason not to let them do it and be responsible for any issues in cutting through the scale. Thanks. I got around to watchin...

dusty wrote: Tue Aug 03, 2021 3:35 am The fence is straight, the stops are reliable and accurately adjustable and the blade is square to the fence and does not wobble.

Does that accurately state the attributes???
That is pretty much it but its the degree of the accuracy and reliability that impresses me the most.

Re: The ProStop Digital Fence System

Another test I thought of was to make some wide cuts to see how straight the rails are. I used a 10" wide piece of hardboard and cut 1" strips. I then measured the width of both ends of the strips and found less than a .001" difference grouped around .997" to .998". I always...

Re: The ProStop Digital Fence System

Dennis and JPG got me thinking about verifying the cutting accuracy of the Kapex which had not occurred to me until now. I tried to do a good test where I set the ProStop to a resolution of .01" which is my normal cutting mode and at 1" to the left of the blade and locked it down. I then m...
