Spacer Gauge to avoid

The brand name is Newmind and it costs only about $10. It isn't designed as a wood working tool but rather for sewing. I don't think it will work well for either, well at least not the one I got anyway. You might have though that such a simple design product would provide some repeatability, sadly i...

Cheap decent tool box

Of late I have been trying to yet again reorganize some of my shop storage. Expect I will do this to the end of my time but that is another story. So the Menard's sale flyer had a tool box for $5 off. It seemed to be about what I was hoping for and wasn't toooo expensive for my budget. They were all...

Re: Cordless Power Tool Battery Prices

This is slightly off topic but still close enough. I have had a camera lithium battery since 12/28/2018. When I went to take it out of the camera it did not just slide out like normal. Had to work to get it out, it has swollen. Wouldn't have noticed just sitting there but the camera is a tight fit. ...

Re: Shaper Origin Question - where to see one in action???

Got a shipping notification on the plate on the 14th, 10 days later then the original guess. It arrived today. Still have no particular plans for it and right now it's too cold to even think about working in the shop. I do have heat in the shop if I want to use it. Have not done so for the last coup...

It looks like you can get the basic version, just missing the holder, for about $47 on Amazon:

Today in the shop "Collins Tool Miter Clamps"

I'm still not sure I have the name right but it is close enough for the purpose of this post. I had some left over cheap shelving materials, a matching set of 5 casters and of course a plan. We have a small pantry and have been in the process of reorganizing it. We had one area under shelf where we ...

For those who did not see the announcement yesterday..... An updated shaper is now out(gen2). Sounds nice but expensive so I don't see me moving on to it. There is free firmware update coming in Nov. (21st) as well as a paid extension called AutoPass. You can check it all out on their website.

pre review MLCS Blue Ice router bits

Got a project coming up and though this might be a good time to order and then try out these nano-ceramic coated bits. Trying out the 1/4" upcut spiral for $24. If it really is as good as they imply it is a bargain. bit to try.jpg Since they have been out for a while it is possible someone else...

Re: Shaper Origin Question - where to see one in action???

I did pre-order the Plate. Ship date of Nov. 4th if I recall right. Might or might not actually ship on that date but there have not been any updates since I placed the order. No pending projects being held up by not having it to use so waiting is fine. I have I think 5 MDF plates that have similar ...
