Band saw, jig saw, scroll saw ? freehand with a router and a jig or hand saw sounds like a good option , will the joints be loose enough to keep the boards from swelling up ?

I am not sure the table saw with out a sled is the ideal tool for the job. JMO
I have a small electric miter box ,,,,and still prefer a hand miter box or band saw like mentioned for some stock , then touch it up on the disc sander,,,, or belt sander .

Those are nice . If you can find some sort of tree that has fallen and the limbs are dead , check them for moisture content and use them , it will save you a lot of cash and you will learn more about the wood working hobby at the same time. when taking on a task of this size, load securement means every thing. don't load something that is too heavy for one person to unload just in case you get stuck unloading it your self.
