Re: Rebuilding Mark V, GE 1-1/8 hp motor

Yes that is at least the actuator and one of the contacts(I do not see the other contact) I fear the worn white plastic part is the reason the contacts were not closing ab=njd that was causing the breaker tripping. There appears to be other melting of black parts as well, but I think that is actuall...

Re: Mark VII

The replacement part is half the length of the oem part.
Two oem parts are on the front way tube only.

So the e-bay pair for $40 replaces one oem part.

So to replace the entire rack costs $80.

The rear way tube has NO rack.

Re: Shopsmith Mark 5 What When and Where

Does this mean the guvmnt did not exist between 1976 Jul 01 and 1976 Oct 01?

Now WHY should a contractor change their bookeeping simply because the guvmnt did?

Re: stuck mitre gauge!

That is a 1/8" National Pipe Thread 'screw'. It is tapered both on the 'screw' and the miter gauge. When wear makes it 'necessary' to advance the 'screw' until the screw refuses to advance, a strip of paper slipped under the bar and extending up both sides provides clamping without gorilla tact...
