The Mark 5 drill chuck should be OK for pen turning. You might get the pen mandrel and a Shopsmth adapter from Penn State Industries. Get a book on pen turning also available from PSI. PSI also has a free pen turning DVD which will help a lot.

I had some of the urethane tires for a while but I switched back to the black rubber tires from SS. I much prefer the black tires. just my opinion

what model of machine do you have? The fence should align with the miter gauge slots on the main table first. This should be a repeatable setup every time the fence is moved.
