Re: Mystery Attachments …. again!

The components remind me of the cutting tool holders on a metal cutting lathe. Does the piece of ground tool steel in picture 8 fit into the slot in the last picture? Can it be tightened in the slot using the thumb screws? The bearing (with nylon ring) on the bracket with the long slotted hole remin...

Re: Speed Reducer Option

The plastic quill handle end and the crank handles are a press fit onto the end of splined rods. Not threaded. Not sure about the little table interlock thingy.

Just let me know which ones you need. Not sure if they are threaded or molded on? If threaded, I can make them.

Re: Mark VII a start and a long ways to go..

I believe the concensus is 29.5". I have two original belts and both measure out closer to 30". Perhaps they are stretched?

BTW, the width of the belt appears to play a significant role in the final spindle speed. I went down this rabbit hole unsuccessfully once before.

Re: Mark VII a start and a long ways to go..

You are supposed to put the large diameter sanding disk on the spindle and use that with one hand to manually spin the spindle while turning the speed dial back down.
