Maybe the band saw is new and never put together. There is also a table raiser bracket attached to the carriage.

They are like the L. L. Bean Main hunting boots, rubber bottoms and leather uppers. That pair is from Cabela's however. Also they are not high top but low just like a regular shoe.

Same situation though. Clamps to table support tubes/rods which one does not want to mar.
Well, you correct me so I thought I would return the favor. :D :) :) :)

Re: Restoring 10ER S/N 83974

All of the table parts are cleaned except for the tops. This time I glass blasted them and then used a 2 1/2" cup fine "brass" (not) brush from Lowe's on the left end of the shorty. Worked like a charm, fast and no cleanup on both steel and aluminum. I still want to try the product De...

Re: Adjustable stop collar

With out a 'bite', the only thing allowing the set screw to hold is friction. Granted putting the squeeze on increases that friction, but there ain't any thing else at 'work'. Of course!! You don't need a bite in this application. So what, the friction works and there no mars on the tubes. Friction...

Re: Beginner - Hobby

[ True, but for education purposes, a jointer is also used to flatten one face of a board that may be cupped or twisted or rough sawn. The board can then be run through a planer to flatten the other face. If you intend to buy only straight, surfaced boards, then you can probably get by without a jo...

Re: Beginner - Hobby

Yes that is a model 500. The table is smaller but it looks to be the proper length. A jointer is a good tool but since I have been buying saw blades that give a glass smooth finish I don't use the jointer much. If you want to do lathe work buy some used tools first and learn how to sharpen them. Do...
